Allocation to intervention
Randomised controlled trial
Query!
Procedure for enrolling a subject and allocating the treatment (allocation concealment procedures)
Interested participants who meet all criteria and for whom consent/assent has been granted will undergo baseline assessment.
Following baseline data collection, consented participants will be randomly assigned to either active video gaming intervention or the control group by the Clinical Trials Research Unit (CTRU) central randomisation service. The researcher will access the CTRU central randomisation service to determine the randomisation allocation. The allocation sequence for randomisation is concealed up to the point of randomisation.
Query!
Methods used to generate the sequence in which subjects will be randomised (sequence generation)
Randomisation will be stratified by sex (female and male) and preferred self-identified ethnicity (Maori, Pacific, and non-Maori non-Pacific) using stratified blocked randomisation with variable block sizes (multiple of 2).
