Description of intervention(s) / exposure
This is an exploratory qualitative study on patient attitudes towards use of sun protection and new technology in skin cancer prevention.
A series of focus groups will be conducted, with each participant to only attend one focus group. Participants will be asked to complete a demographic survey prior to attending the focus group. The facilitator will follow a semi-structured format and follow the discussion guide. Topics in the discussion guide include current sun protection practices, and participants will be introduced to new technologies to prevent skin cancer. These technologies assist with reminders for sunscreen application.
The assistant facilitator will audio record the focus group and takes notes. Each focus group will last 70 minutes and be held at the Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation, Kelvin Grove, Brisbane.
